La biología de sistemas, que una la labor de biólogos y matemáticos, supondrá una gran ayuda para la medicina. Como todo modelo, debe ser mejorado, aunque ya hay acercamientos bastante efectivos en el ámbito de las bacterias: “Disponemos de modelos parciales, pero sin duda llegarán los integrales gracias a las mejoras tecnológicas”.Si la biología de sistemas funciona como se espera, “la medicina dará un gran paso para superar el modelo prueba-error”, uno los principales problemas en el abordaje terapéutico de muchas enfermedades.
